Grade requirements of building square timber

(1) The decay of grade I, class II and class III timber is not allowed. The sum of all wood pitch of grade I timber on any 15cm length on any side of the component shall not be greater than 1 / 3 of the width of the face. For grade II timber, the sum of all wood pitch scales on any 15cm length on either side of the member shall not be greater than 2 / 5 of the width of the face. For class III timber, the sum of all wood pitch scales on any 15cm length on any surface of the member shall not be greater than 1 / 2 of the face width.

(2) For grade I materials, the average slope of every 1m shall not be greater than 5cm. For grade II materials, the average slope of every 1 m shall not be greater than 8 cm. For grade III materials, the average slope of every 1m shall not be greater than 12cm.

(3) The core of grade I timber should be kept away from the shear surface. There was no limit to the pulp core of grade II and grade III.
